Written by Dr Dave Hone, palaeontologist and senior zoology lecturer at Queen Mary University of London; a specialist in the behaviour of dinosaurs and pterosaurs who has named 18 species of extinct reptile to date.

Dr Dave Hone is a palaeontologist working primarily on dinosaur behaviour and ecology. He has named new species, looked at locomotion and evolutionary patterns and he also researches some other ancient reptile groups, especially pterosaurs. He is a senior lecturer in zoology at Queen Mary University of London in the UK and have been studying and teaching about biology his whole adult life.


In addition to writing books he hosts a podcast, Terrible Lizards. He maintains several blogs including Lost Worlds Revisited on The Guardian. He has also been a consultant for various TV shows and regularly give public talks on his research.
