"What's bothering Ben?'' is an illustrated children's book about bullying. A common and ongoing issue that starts at a very early age,"What's bothering Ben?" approaches bullying from the victim's point of view. For a bullied child, being able to tell someone is the first hurdle to get over. The rest of the book looks at ways of addressing the issue with the assistance of adults and by themselves.
Created for the classroom, library or at home, with colourful illustrations and rhyming text, it has a postscript that can be used as a tool when making decisions on how to effectively help children to address this issue. Included is a guide to promote discussion about, recognizing the attributes of bullies, and the physical and emotional effect they have on their victims.
"What's bothering Ben?" was created to highlight this issue and assist in promoting skills to deal with bullying in all its forms.
